Why Do I Keep Hurting?

"Why Do I Keep Hurting?"

There may be many reasons why pain and decreased functional activities persists. One of the common problems is a build-up of scar tissue in the body. Scar tissue is the result of soft tissue healing from stress, micro/macro tearing and muscle weakness, much like a scar will appear on your skin after a cut. Scar tissue leads to chronic muscle pain, decreased flexibility, muscle "knots" that do not go away with rest or massage, and muscle weakness.

Most of the everyday scar tissue build-up accumulates in the soft tissue of the fascia. Fascia is tissue designed to decrease friction of sliding muscles and creates compartments of different muscle groups and layers. It is essential for normal tissue function. An excess of built-up scar tissue results in abnormal mechanics of the internal muscular system when often leads to pain, headaches, muscle tightness

If you have a new onset of these symptoms or chronic problems like this, you may need scar tissue remodeling. At True Balance Chiropractic & Physical Therapy in Mansfield, we treat scar tissue with iSTAR treatments (instrument Soft Tissue Assisted Remodeling). This usually takes around 5 visits. Call today 682-518-6263 or email  to schedule your consultation and exam to see if this treatment is right for you.
